Cost and Commercial Management
Cost certainty, from first estimate to final account.
We prepare, test and defend the numbers that decisions are taken on, and manage the commercial position of the contract through to settlement.
Numbers a board can rely on
An estimate prepared without market evidence is a forecast of intent, not of cost. In markets where published pricing is limited, that gap is wider still, and the difference emerges at tender when the budget is already committed.
We build cost plans from measured quantities and current market rates, structured in accordance with RICS New Rules of Measurement so that they can be compared, audited and carried forward as the design develops. Value engineering is undertaken against the brief rather than against the drawing, so that savings are taken where they do not compromise the standard the asset must meet.
In delivery we manage the commercial position: valuations, variations, cost reporting, cash flow forecasting and the final account. Where a project is financed, we prepare the information a lender’s monitoring surveyor requires and support the drawdown process.

Financial discipline carried into the asset
Capital cost is one part of the commercial picture. Where clients are appraising an investment or preparing a business case, we model whole life cost, operating expenditure and cash flow alongside capital, so that the decision rests on the full financial position rather than on the build figure alone.
