Securing the supply before the programme depends on it
Specifications are written against products that are available somewhere. Whether they are available here, certified here, and supported here is a separate question, and it is usually asked too late.
We test the market before a package goes out: availability, lead time, conformity and certification route, installation capability and after sales support. Tender documentation is then prepared on a like for like basis, bidders are qualified rather than simply invited, and returns are analysed on cost, programme and technical compliance together.
Through delivery we manage the supply chain: purchase orders, expediting, logistics and customs, inspection on receipt, and installation supervision through to commissioning. Substitutions are approved against the standard, not accepted on arrival.
