Verified against the documents that govern it
Construction is approved, valued and handed over on the strength of assurances that are rarely tested. Payment is certified against an application rather than against the work in place, completion is accepted before the specification has been verified, and defects emerge once liability has passed to the owner.
We establish the position on the evidence. Works are inspected against the drawings, specifications and contract conditions in force, materials and workmanship are examined for conformity, and statutory compliance is confirmed. Where a defect has emerged, we investigate its cause and determine where responsibility properly lies.
Findings are issued as a written report that states its basis, its method and its limitations, structured so that it can be relied upon by an owner, a funder or a tribunal. Where remedial work is required, we define the scope and assess its cost and programme implications.
